corporate shills are trying to convince the electorate that these are entitlements, not rights. to divide us and make everyone resent the workers who do enjoy these hard-fought protections. don’t lose the plot, y’all. and ffs, thank a fed.

occupational health and safety standards? labor unions and the right to organize? hazard and overtime pay? flexible work arrangements? the things that enable us to work, to be safe while we work, to be fairly compensated for our labor?

all of this is to say that the resentment toward federal workers is manufactured for a reason—the federal government sets industry standards. they are trying to erode our labor protections, so they can come for yours next.

federal workers are also people, who have bills to pay and families to care for, trying to make ends meet, subject to the same broken economy as you all. they can’t just walk off the job and magically pluck another job off the job tree.

feds work tirelessly, thanklessly, to ensure you have access to clean water, planes that fly, life and safety-sustaining benefits and services. to justify the existence of these programs to the ghouls who want to defund them and who expect stellar KPIs w/out ever providing commensurate funding

and suggesting that excepted federal employees won’t show up to work betrays an ignorance of the foregoing at best, and at worst, perpetuates the “lazy entitled” federal worker stereotypes that republicans want their rabid base to believe.

excepted and recalled federal employees are not going to just, not show up to work. the federal employees who are still working after the last 10 months of assault, who haven’t been DOGE’d or taken the DRP, care deeply about the work and the American people.

another reminder: federal employees are legally not allowed to strike or plan any kind of walk out or sick out. not showing up to work in a non-pay status as an excepted employee or when recalled results in AWOL status, which is a fireable offense.
