I should also point out that the death camps were kept secret because the Nazis knew that even their own people, the rank and file party members, would be appalled.
I worry at what we may find in the future.

In the future they will say it wasn't that many, wasn't ethnic cleansing, any mistreatment was by "bad apples", had noble intentions, the President never signed an order, yadda yadda.
I should point out that there were concentration and labour camps for years before there were extermination camps.

They are already using some of the same arguments as Holocaust deniers - only criminals get taken, no one is mistreated, no one is disappeared, non-citizens have no rights to violate, all claims to the contrary are lies and unpatriotic - while we see with our own eyes that what they say is not true.
