Emory Hillandale is a great hospital. It is a community hospital that serves the needs of people and neighborhoods who had little access to major medical services. I believe most of the negative sentiments are drenched in internalized racism and racist stereotypes of black communities. Forget them.

Openly call it a coup and hostile occupation

The most reliable counter to a fascist coup is a popular front uprising.

The most effective thing opposition leaders can do is call the situation what it is & start building it.

We must show that this Govt is as illegitimate as the Vichy Govt was.

Walk out. We are not united in any way...and being there seems complicit. Show solidarity to the Americans that still support the constitution.

Do not go. Each of you hold your own press conference in your localities at the time he is holding his address. The less eyes on him; the less validity he accumulates.

This is one big problem with these laws. If I am supposed to use women's rooms, then many many cis men can too, WAY more easily than having to convince someone they're trans women.

He is using his office to abuse power. But his power isn’t just abusive—he actively wields it to abuse others. America was founded on the principle of resisting such abuses, claiming its greatness in that resistance. Allowing this betrays the very roots of the nation-state. He is a terrorist.

Exactly. Emory thrives on an unbothered, individualistic culture that allows threats to go unchecked. The silence isn’t strength—it borders complicity.

We are part of the AAUP, so some relief.

They have no backbone. Stand on your ground.

They only needed a strand of hair to unravel it all—an America stripped of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion.

Accessibility? That can go too.

The only sentence in those executive orders they don't take seriously is the one about how the order "does not have the force of law."
