Conflating voting with activism has led to the myth that voting is the ONLY activism.

It's not.

We save ourselves - with protests, with mutual aid, with community, with refusal to comply in advance, with organizing, with litigation, with direct action.

A couple of years ago, I got a call out of the blue from a woman who was really angry that her kid was trans.

She lived in New Jersey, but her kid - whom I'd never met - was in college in Illinois, and Fox News told her that kids only become trans when they're influenced by another trans person.

A major theme of Jesus' ministry, derived from an argument throughout the OT, is that people don't deserve their suffering. But somehow modern Christianity is all about how people deserve to suffer, especially if they don't ask for salvation from that guy who said they don't deserve to suffer.
