This is also a holy grail print for me - helps that PokΓ©mon Snap is one of my favorite games of all time. It looks great on your wall, frame or no frame!

I sincerely wish you (and Kansas City) a Gustavo 🀲

At this point I had no idea what level of expertise the guy had with old TVs. So I broadly explained β€œI have an old CRT that needs a tune-up. It’s a widescreen.” And I kid you not, he goes: β€œoh, a KV-XBR910? I can do that. Give me a time and location.” Yeah turns out he’s some kind of CRT savant.

Ultimately I found a number that could possibly be associated with him, so I called and the most uninterested, random voice on the other line picked up with a greeting that made it sound like I’d interrupted a funeral. I asked him if he was the TV guy, and he said β€œyeah.”

I’m sorry, I don’t. But I do have a funny experience that I’d like to share. My own XBR910 monster had some issues, so I was looking up these people in Illinois. I kept coming across dude named Gustavo, but just his name. No company, just a guy…

True, drop in the bucket I guess. I appreciate the editorial commitment from you guys though!

This decision could backfire for them. Musou games, even if they involve huge IPs, aren’t particularly popular in the West. General audiences here will rely on the review to even know the game is coming out. Can’t help but feel they’re shooting themselves in the foot with this one.

I’m with you. And something tells me it would’ve been a little easier to mentally work through without an active genocide, a looming economic recession and armed militias roaming my neighborhood. But what do I know I just make games

I’m in the same boat dude. It’s been positively bizarre being out of work this long. Hundreds upon hundreds of applications where I write out my years of experience apparently mean nothing.

I hope your birthday brings with it stability and comfort for you and the family.

The Nintendo Switch is now equal to sales of the Nintendo DS, which is the company's best selling video game console of all time.

How satisfied are you with β€œon/off” level integration? If you’re ok with it the most basic humidifiers are adequate for that purpose. If you want to utilize the hygrometer/humidistat functionalities, that’s where it starts getting complicated.

β€œAmerica is the wealthiest nation on Earth, but its people are mainly poor, and poor Americans are urged to hate themselves. To quote the American humorist Kin Hubbard, 'It ain’t no disgrace to be poor, but it might as well be.' It is in fact a crime for an American to be poor, even though America is a nation of poor. Every other nation has folk traditions of men who were poor but extremely wise and virtuous, and therefore more estimable than anyone with power and gold. No such tales are told by the American poor. They mock themselves and glorify their betters. The meanest eating or drinking establishment, owned by a man who is himself poor, is very likely to have a sign on its wall asking this cruel question: 'if you’re so smart, why ain’t you rich?' There will also be an American flag no larger than a child’s hand – glued to a lollipop stick and flying from the cash register.

Americans, like human beings everywhere, believe many things that are obviously untrue. Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money. They will not acknowledge how in fact hard money is to come by, and, therefore, those who have no money blame and blame and blame themselves. This inward blame has been a treasure for the rich and powerful, who have had to do less for their poor, publicly and privately, than any other ruling class since, say Napoleonic times. Many novelties have come from America. The most startling of these, a thing without precedent, is a mass of undignified poor. They do not love one another because they do not love themselves.”

reading slaughterhouse 5 for the first time and i was absolutely knocked senseless by this passage, which is so true and relevant that it feels like it was pulled from a history book

I love these kinds of panels because they’re shaped and formatted like a tughra, but with a full message/narrative like a levha. It looks much more modern as a result of this fusion of concepts. Astoundingly beautiful.

I need to decide tonight’s movie

Do I keep going Cronenberg with Scanners, or opt for something more modern with Presence?
