Today I was thinking "what would my final meal be?" Mine would be a fish & chip supper from a "chippy" with mushy peas & curry sauce. With all my family. While watching one of our favorite shows on Telly, while complaining about how much the others had on their plates. How about you?

Simon eats Mentaiko (fermented pollock roe)

Who would like to eat mentaiko. It's pollock roe which is removed from the fish and then marinated in chili pepper and salt and then left to ferment. I love the stuff. You?

A splendid meal @gokigen.torigen. We had about 20 skewers and some chicken karaage. The chicken skin was inevitably my favorite. And, I had it for dessert. But it was all very good. Can anyone tell me what my shirt is a combination of?

After my good medical news. I decided to pop into @versaillescubanfood to celebrate. I had some grilled chicken, fries, white rice and black beans. I could not have been happier. It filled the belly, and it filled the soul.

Skinless chicken thighs, salsa verde dried lemons and chicken juice rice

With a huge apology to @chefjwaxman I used his salsa verde recipe today, but I had to alter it for some of the herbs and other ingredients I had at home. Salsa verde. Served with skinless chicken thighs, dried lemons and chicken juice rice. Good stuff.

Goodbye Ozzy. When I lived in Birmingham, England I went to see you with some real fans. This was back in the late 1980s. I saw you a few times after that. You really were one of the rock & roll stars.

A very good brunch @birdiegsla. I really liked the desserts. Including a rice pudding, which everyone dived in to, everything else was rather on point too. I have been to @birdiegsla for dinner, which is very busy and fun. But, this brunch was 👍🏼

A very fun experience. I got to meet up with two school mates who I last saw in 1980. David was over here with students of his own. On a Summer expedition. Gail was living in Los Angeles and very, very close to me. Who knew. We went to @birdiegsla. For brunch. I'll post about that tomorrow.

An enjoyable meal with friends at Carmel restaurant in LA. Plenty of things to enjoy but the Jerusalem Bagel was a hit with our group as were the mushroom cigar, octopus shawarma and more. Thanks to my new chums for starting our little food club — it’s like book club but for food.
