I did, but I've long disassociated from that part of my past. I was a really, really stupid kid and did not behave in a way befitting a decent human, and honestly I carry a lot of shame about it.

Birds have become my happy place, which is funny because until a few years ago I was intimidated of drawing them.
I've always been inspired by artists like @nambroth.bsky.social and other old-school Gryphons Guild folx, from the young age of like 14. Now, at almost 41, I can't believe I drew these.

The past month has been really difficult for me. My maternal grandmother, who basically helped raise me, passed away on Sunday night after a week of extensive illness and it's really thrown my whole family into shock. I'm ok, but having to be the support for my mom has been pretty rough.

Not that I think I'm "good enough" to tell anyone anything, but I know when I was just starting out, I would have killed to have a more experienced artist sit down with me and go over things. Kinda just a vibe I've had, yanno?

Maybe? What I was thinking was like, have the person/client/whomever pick.. idk, 5 pieces of their work that they would like feedback on and give them an hour where we chat about it and I tell them what I think works, doesn't work, and why, as well as things I think they could do overall to improve.

Sometimes I wonder if there is any business in offering paid critiques to up-and-coming artists. Could that be a thing?

I want that to be a thing.
