8. The 2019 Child’s Play reboot was a hell of a lot of fun, and might have been one of the best slasher remakes we’ve ever had.

Yeah, OG timeline ranking for me is probably 1, 4, 6, 2, 5.

I know 6 is generally disliked, and a lot of my enjoyment boils down to “my family rented the most recent one when I was young,” but damn do I love the vibes. Also, Paul Rudd as 20-something Tommy Doyle is a great protagonist.

Poor Danielle Harris can’t catch a break, despite being in one of the best movies in the series.

The Scream movies in general are very well written. The series has a level of quality that most slashers can’t even approach. The last two in particular were great. But I will be forever mad that the last one teased that they were bailing on the whodunnit and then deked us out.

Nope is a weird, weird movie. It worked for me, and I love how everything clicked together. I think it ranks third for me as far as Peele’s flicks go, though.

Honestly, I can’t fault anyone for having a totally different ranking of his films, because he’s 3/3 in my book.

House of a Thousand Corpses was just a TCM wannabe, Halloween was terrible, and Halloween 2 was even worse (and it’s a Jason Vorhees movie). Credit for bringing Danielle Harris back to the franchise, though.

7. Maybe Rob Zombie has made a good horror movie at some point, but he’s 0 for 3, and that’s about all the chances I have in me.

I think it’s great and it had a lot to say. I just think Us is genuinely unnerving and incredibly underrated. Big fan of Nope, too. He took a good chance on that one.

6. Get Out put Jordan Peele on the map as a horror director, but Us is a better flick.

5. Scream desperately needs to have a recurring killer, even for just a couple movies. The motivations for each killer have been a huge mixed bag since the first one.

4. The battery reveal in the original Child’s Play (and the payoff) is one of the most brilliant bits of writing I’ve seen in a horror movie. It’s simultaneously haunting and so unbelievably clever.

I love Corey, I thought the opening sequence was a brilliant way to completely upend expectations, and it was a unique way to show how Michael had infected Haddonfield.

3. Nightmare on Elm Street is a fantastic horror movie, but the series as a whole is generally pretty bad.

Love it. It’s one of my favorites in the series.

2. Halloween Ends was fantastic, and was easily one of the best films in the franchise. It just wasn’t what a lot of people wanted.

1. The first three Paranormal Activity movies are fantastic and very well crafted. The quality of the series dropped after that, but they remained pretty watchable, which is more than you can say for a lot of horror franchises after a while.

The funny thing is, most of these guys know it’s all crap. There’s a reason the NFL wouldn’t sell him the Buffalo Bills, and every one of his current toadies like Cruz and Rubio pointed out his failed business history in 2016 when they were competing for the nomination.

Yeah, it tracks for a dude that bankrupted multiple casinos.

They suck and I don’t like them and I hope they go away. But they are better than download codes.

I would pay good money for a Pokemon Game Boy Collection for the 30th anniversary next year. With a collector’s edition featuring a nice art book and SteelBook. And with Digital Eclipse style documentary footage covering the localization challenges and all kinds of other stuff.

It also has Rambi’s theme from DK64!

It sure seems like the president of the United States was pretty close friends with a convicted sex trafficker that just got transferred to a minimum security prison against all standard protocol and practices. 🤔

30 and guaranteed to be living with his parents another 18 years, minimum. We gotta get this kid signed up.

Nothing too unhinged. My SNES games were played in my parents’ basement in the ‘90s while chilling on bean bag chairs, or on an old couch that had been moved down there after my parents bought a new one.
