The commercial stations have been doing fake public opinion bullshit since I can remember, and I'm fucking old. They have never been about informing, always about either influencing, or selling. They in no way act in the public interest, they act for their owners, clients, and cronies.

gradient.horse Draw a horse, watch it run!

I drew a horse in the horse-drawing website and felt an unexpectedly authentic pang as my horse ran free to join the herd, never to be seen by me again (though I kept watching, it never reappeared)

Beautiful narrative design. You cannot capture your horse except with the screenshot's lasso

absolute dipshit award goes to that fucking idiot cop trying to be aggro champion but then jizzing about with his foot tangled in his bike for the entire assault on the blameless accountant looking gent. Dipshit's thug mates should have been giving lance legtangle the illegal rib massage.

Work Song

It's wild how much work went into The Outer Worlds 2 music. This one in particular sticks with me. I felt bad murderating the brainwashed stalwart forces of the protectorate while listening to their stirring martial bangers open.spotify.com/track/79vhlL...

screnshot of FrogID app {by Australian National Museum) showing 3 frogs identified in one recording - Tusked Frog (Adelotus Brevis), Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog (Limnodynastes peronii), and Strped Marsh Frog (Litoria Fallax). The Tusked Frog was unexpected! There's a pic of one, mottled brown, bumpy, with smallish black eyes and the cutest little stumpy arms and clawed toes.

Amazed and chuffed that we had 3 frogs identified on one night in our absolutely screaming with frogs tiny backyard. Ponds are the magic ingredient

Article includes the sentence "And yet again, heโ€™s basing this argument on a rather novel legal theory and a dubious interpretation of the facts." - what fucking hope do you folks have when your mainstream journos strait up rework, sanitise and sane-wash shit to this degree? Is there a way back?

Anyone know if there is an art feed that requires alt text for images?

Working for the Knife

Mitski's Working for the Knife is perfect music. Doomy synth, unbalancing and subtle builds and shits, air-raid siren of a riff absolutely screaming at her to avoid the existential fate she documents in sparse lyrics and subtle vocals. Just beautiful. Please listen.

Abstract spray paint art on concrete block wall. No colour left unloved. There is some painted artificial grass attached to the left and bottom of the wall, in curling, rolling shapes. There's an organic feel to a lot of the detail on the concrete, like tentacles, claws, or plant tendrils. There's a discordant and ominous red, chrome and black rectangle imposed like enforced order over the chaos. This shot from a left angle looking down the wall.

Another of my creative efforts that really gave my gym motivation a big kick in the ass when it was flagging. Having a routine survive to habit status is gold, but that status is always at risk. Plus I like the vibe it creates. Spray paint and artificial turf on concrete block.

blackboard wall filled with super multi-coloured chalk pastel lift records across several months, and accompanying critter and landscape drawings. There's a heading for each lift type, like squat, bench, etc. and then rows of daily records for that lift below it.

This was my training log three different log types ago. It's my all time favourite style, but I ran out of space and am not ready to erase. Chalk pastels on blackboard paint.

Close-in shot of a daily training (exercise) log in progress, with exercise, sets and repetitions, typed on a sheet of paper that's still wrapped snugly around the platen. Log is halfway through some sets of bench press. The typewriter is an Adler J5 from the 60s that's been in the family since then. The ribbon and typebars are visible. The only attention it has received in 40 years is my reconditioning of the ribbon by running through a home-made jig over a black ink stamp pad, which worked a treat.

I think one of my subconscious / emergent ADHD coping strategies has been rotating rituals to maintain motivation. Keeping a training log is one such. I've done pencil & paper, whiteboard, spreadsheets, fitness apps, pastels on chalkboard, 'no log freeform vibe', and now - typewritten.

Recommend no further avoid if possible given your circumstances. I mean, you can do amazing wonderful things for decades, and love and be loved - and still deal daily with the effects of this deal, whether it's problematic coping strategies or just the quicksand of the soul.
