Text from a UK government education blog. Will teachers be replaced by Al? Absolutely not. Teachers are irreplaceable, and Al could never be a substitute for teachers' professional judgement and the personal relationships they have with their students. We're developing Al tools specifically to support teachers, not to replace the unique role they play in education. These tools are designed to handle repetitive tasks that currently take teachers' energy away from face to face classroom interactions.
Doesn’t this AI tutoring project contradict what was written in this blog from the government in June 2025?

I’ve read the gov press release a couple of times but I’m still a little unclear. This is an AI tutoring tool that will be used by the learner from home? They say that it won’t replace “face to face teaching” but isn’t that exactly what they are doing? Am I missing something obvious here? 🫤
