At this point we have statements from IBEW, SEIU, and the TN AFL-CIO confirming that the rumors of union avoidance in recovery efforts are FALSE.

People are justifiably pissed. Misleading them will not help us recover.

Why is this number going up? It was down to 105k this morning, and it was just at 117k before I took this screenshot. Why are we going in the wrong direction?

Hypothetically, if we buried 20% of our lines, that's 20% fewer outages in a storm like that. That's a 20% faster rate of power coming back on for those that are affected. A major difference. I know those percentages wouldn't translate perfectly, but the point remains the same.

This is also not an all or nothing proposition. Every buried line is a win over what we have now. Meaningful progress could make a huge difference, doesn't have to be 100% coverage.
