BOOKS YOU MIGHT LIKE Our Song. Irish writer Anna Carey has a ‘where we left off’ romance coming out in June and I cannot recommend it enough. Her characters behave in believable ways, they’re young and flawed, then they meet 16 years later and they’re still figuring it all out. It’s a funny book but imbued with sincerity and is so optimistic and hopeful that it lifted me for days. Cover Story by one of my favourite writers Mhairi McFarlane. A Fake Relationship romance, (also Enemies to Lovers, Close Proximity and Only One Bed) it might be her best yet (but I always say that.) It’s just that her characterisation in this is deeper and even more accurate than previously. Enormous emotional intelligence here. Out in May. I’ve just finished The Secret Room by Jane Casey. Another brilliant police procedural which also gives the DELICIOUS slow burn relationship between Maeve Kerrigan and Josh Derwent. This is out in April and if you’ve haven’t read these books yet, I’d urge you to. I envy you so much, having them all to read again.
