#JustFinished System Collapse, book 7 of The Murderbot Diaries. I’m sure this will shock no one, but my love for Murderbot grows with each book. I’m excited for book 8 which I just learned is coming out in May, but at the same time it feels entirely too far away.

#JustFinished Nuclear War: A Scenario. Good mix of history lessons and speculation. The story like format was pretty easy to read, though the subject matter is terrifying. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, there’s another chapter proving you wrong.

#JustFinished The Grace Year. This was a difficult rating for me. I read it in a single weekend and wanted to like it but I didnt really like the direction it went in the second half. It started out with almost Hunger Games-like vibes and then took a big pivot. Hard to describe.

Two toned purple sock knit to just past the heel turn, against a yellow background. This was a mystery knitalong last year. The pattern is called Fritillery

Multicolored sock against a purple background. No pattern for this one. I refer to it as “socks on a plane” because my idea was to use self striping yarn and cheap dpn’s that I wouldn’t care if TSA took away, when I went on vacation last year. My plan was to knit just one long tube and add afterthought cuffs, heels, and toes when I got home.

Orangish pink partially completed sock against a purple background. This pattern is Hermione’s Everyday Sock and this is actually the second sock! Yes sometimes I do get to the second one. I put it on pause when I stayed at my parents house for three weeks because I had modified the heel gusset and didn’t remember how so I had to wait til I got home to look at the first sock.

Two toned teal sock with lace detail about 75% complete against a purple background. This pattern is called Woodland Walk. I just started it a few weeks ago.

#JustFinished Fugitive Telemetry, book 6 of The Murderbot Diaries. This was a nice change of pace, almost a palate cleanser, after the outstanding previous entry in the series. Of the six books so far this is the one most suited to a tv season IMO.

#Booksky June was a rough month, book wise. I had 3 DNFs which is a lot for me. Maybe that means I’m trying to branch out? Who knows. I also lost my streak due to being busy with work. Booo!

I think I’m going to start July with the next Murderbot entry. Hoping it’s as great as the previous one.

I ended up deciding on some basic ribbed socks. I wanted the colors in the yarn to be the star and thought something more complicated would do neither the yarn nor the pattern justice. I’m a couple inches in and it looks like it’s going to pool in a spiral pattern.

#ShowMeYourKnits blanket edition. This baby blanket was one of the first real knitting projects I started, long ago (also why the pic is so bad). The baby it was intended for was halfway through grade school by the time I finished it so it ended up going to a different baby! 🧶💙
