Among all proteome changes in Alzheimerโ€™s disease (AD), 20S proteasomes stand out.

โฌ›๏ธ Their abundance strongly declines in AD patients.

=> This decline parallels a reduction in 20S substrate proteins and leads to abnormal protein accumulation in AD.
