Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

Egg prices are coming back down ( at least until the next bird flu wave). I feel like the places it’s most noticeable is actually fast food. It’s like $12-14 for a single meal at Burger King and McDonald’s now

Where housing affordability is worst and costs are highest in the U.S. The gap between what buyers make and what they can afford is near a 10-year high, as experts say the housing market is inaccessible to many.

It depends on how you slice the data, but a median home is not affordable to a person making medium wages pretty much anywhere www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

I live in a SFH in a bike friendly urban neighborhood that has a mixture of housing types. I know a number of families who’ve moved out of the neighborhood just because it’s very hard to find let alone afford a 3 bedroom house or apartment.

I attended a talk by a scientist at a Chinese University and realized that all the background climate data that she used came from the US (COβ‚‚ Keeling Curve, global temperature time series, etc.). Although China funds a lot of research, the destruction of US science will affect science globally.

The Port of San Diego shouldn't be handing out parking placards to their contractors, if they're going to use them to endanger the public. Naturescape was blocking the bike lane on 45+ mph Harbor Drive 20 feet from a dedicated parking spot for maintenance vehicles. #sandiego

Agents parked just outside a closed gate leading to the church parking lot and ran into the yard, said the pastor, who did not want to identify himself or his church.

The agents asked no questions and showed no identification before taking one man away, whose wife and child were inside at the time, the pastor said. They attempted to grab others, too.
"Right now, everybody is scared. Everybody," he said. "One of these guys with immigration, he say he was going to arrest one of the other guys in the church. He pushed him."
Inside the church, women and children sobbed as they wondered whether their loved ones had been taken. Some yard workers fled into the surrounding woods when officials arrived, including 15-year-old Miguel Vazquez.

Here’s a story for every national news outlet:

In N.C., churchgoers are literally running into the woods as federal agents descend on the property.

The most insanely frustrating thing about the #ClimateCrisis is how the breakthrough we so clearly need isn’t technological. It’s just a collective willingness, a determination even, to change in ways that would clearly be SO MUCH BETTER than the clear and obvious consequences of NOT changing.

Every car in your city represents $8-12K/year being sucked out of your local economy instead of being spent on housing, goods & services.

I wish more parking-obsessed retailers & elected officials understood this.

I'm beginning to suspect that the Trump administration wants a major increase in homelessness because they believe the resulting horrors will all be blamed on big city mayors.

So many of their recent actions on food support, housing support, and healthcare all point this way.

We also need to spend some billions to get the only rail linking Socal's biggest cities off of the eroding coastal bluffs. The solutions is higher taxes on the rich and on driving all around

Ronald Reagan, Jerry Brown, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, all former governors, with shirts that all have the Priority Parking logo, a parking lot owner in Sacramento.

Why does Brown have "moonbeam" knuckle tats? Why does Reagan have "trust but verify?". Art makes you think. You thought. Art.

My eternal pet peeve with the world right now: Front end height is the largest determinant of pedestrian death by a significant factor. These things kill people for no reason.

There is no magic thing you can do with modern vehicles, that we weren't doing in smaller vehicles in the 90s. Nothing.

I hope if nothing else it opens people's eyes to what's going on. I used to consistently hear "the media just wants clicks/ratings." If they wanted that they would be doggedly pursuing the Epstein story. But what they actually want is to help Trump rule us and ultimately enslave us

Remembering how Biden revived the practice of releasing visitors logs and was rewarded by the press for his transparency with a front page story at his weakest possible moment about how he had Parkinson's based on a Parkinson's expert visiting the WH.
