My point was not to assert any sort of Norwegian moral superiority, but to point out that often claimed moral superiority is often largely a product of historic immoral practices.

Well to be fair, it’s not as if certain Federal (inc. SCOTUS) judges haven’t exactly been shy of citing dissenting opinions in support of their Calvinball opinions in recent years. What happens when SCOTUS treats every precedent as negotiable and overturnable based on current composition of the Ct.
