Who better to fix the country than the party filled with the former members of the party who broke it, right? Oh...

I genuinely don't see a way out of this for France. An election won't fix how divided the country is. If parties won't play ball with each other, what other options are there? A sixth Republic?

I love how I have a cousin who is so ignorant he complains about foreign people ruining Sweden, while he himself is a foreign person living and working in Sweden ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Really opens my eyes to the mindset of those without a great deal going on upstairs.

๐Ÿšจ NEW: Rachel Reeves is set to blame Nigel Farage for tax rises in the Budget, saying he delivered Brexit with โ€œeasy sloganeeringโ€ and then walked away

Reeves will say that without Brexit, the economy would be stronger and taxes lower - and that Farage is to blame

100% back this. The challenges faced by our coastal communities are incredibly unique, and an MP from one of those areas is best suited to be able to represent the needs of those communities within government.

The situation in France has gotten so bad, they've run out of people to be Prime Minister and are now recycling.

The way the electoral system screwed the Lib Dems is going to do the same to the Tories now. The Greens will likely cut Labour's vote in a lot of city seats, likely winning Bristol and Huddersfield. Red wall will turn Turquoise. Small C South Coast will go Gold. This would be mayhem

Just seen a headline which asks "Thatcher was born 100 years ago and her reign feels a lifetime away. Why is her effect on the country still so huge?"

It's because she was a massive bastard. Hope that helps x

I honestly think some of the replies to this are quite insensitive. I know personally people who aren't well enough to work who would genuinely do anything to be able to go back. Providing services to help people who want to and could, depending on the work, isn't a bad thing.

100% I bumped into one of my old teachers about two years ago who had to take medical retirement. We got talking, and he said he would genuinely do anything to be able to go back to work, but it just wasn't an option for him. There are plenty of sick people who will be grateful to have this in place

A long-term vision for Hull could include removal of two major shopping centres The removal of Prospect Centre and Princes Quay are seen as 'illustrative options' for the city's future in a council regeneration document

If your vision for the city involves the removal of one of the most iconic buildings, your vision is clouded.

I think he's just pissy because he knows there's a decent chance that one of those people could be the next President.

Just cast my vote for Lucy Powell to be the next Deputy Labour Leader. With Labour's achievements being overshadowed by the mistakes and Reform leading in the polls, it is more important now than ever to have a Deputy who won't be afraid to say when we've got it wrong and need to change course.

Still disappoints me that if the US had a fair voting system, Clinton would have one. In what world should the candidate with the most votes not become the president?

He wins the award for the most pathetic leader of a party. A man so weak, after losing the election and his seat, he gets an MP in a safe seat to resign so he could keep being a career politician. Pathetic.

I love seeing how old some displays around places are. Popped into the humanities department to use the printer, and there's a display that mentions an actress who is going to be in a film that "releases next year". The film came out 10 years ago.

I really don't see a way out of this without another election, but they have to wait between elections, so if Macron calls one and things get worse, they're stuck in an even worse position than they are now. Genuinely terrible position for them to be in.
