Why is no one supporting Higgins, is everybody just giving Reynolds enough rope?

Nobody helped her when she was violated by Bruce Lehrman, is anybody still helping her when she has been violated by Linda Reynolds and the WA Supreme Court/WA defamation laws?

Hasn’t Higgins filed an appeal…nobody proceeds with their judgment when there is an appeal on foot …except Linda

So the point is wanting to get the AEC to pay the GST back to Mineralogy rather than the party’s “founder”? And this comes just after an International decision that Mineralogy wasn’t allowed compensation under foreign entity treaties. Makes it seem like his “patriotism” is just a tax device

It seems odd to give judgment against Higgins first as “publisher” of the same tweet, but that Reynolds could collect again. Also strange to award indemnity costs just because he didn’t say sorry. Is WA really that backward with defamation law or did Higgins not instruct her lawyers properly?

I do hope that she has really good pro bono representation on the appeal. That decision looked iffy.

/2 and Tootle thought Reynolds was credible but Higgins wasn’t because what she said in another court conflicted with a note Brown made who also wasn’t a witness.
And then he found it was defamatory of Higgins to refer to that apology. Do we defame Reynolds by posting the video?

Tootle found that she was so overcome with shock (despite Ch 10 giving her notice 3 days before) that the words escaped her. We saw Hamer in the Fed ct saying she shouted it many times as if she wanted all the staff to hear

The donations should go towards an appeal.
Even if she has had enough, WA defamation law needs to fall into line and Tootle’s judgment seems off kilter. Who is he to act as a review of the Federal Court and come to different conclusions about witnesses he hasn’t seen with such adverse effect.

It would assist if they stopped calling it the Ellis defence, it was used against Ellis not by him in his “defence”. Better to name if after the person who first decided to use it to the church’s benefit — Pell.

The final submissions were only put in 6 weeks ago. Martin Bennett anticipated after trial that no judgment would be delivered before Xmas, it seems that he had spent the last 10 months attacking Higgins credit on the papers & perhaps exhausted Higgins funds on legal costs.

Yes this is correct you just can’t mention that she said this in the senate, because that is defamation, I wonder if hansard knows.

If Justice Kaye didn’t defame Reynolds how can Higgins have done by saying the same thing? The legal result was Reynolds conduct was questionable but she had acceptable answers to the questions.

Luckily, it was accepted that she didn’t know she wasn’t allowed transcript of other witnesses evid but did know she shouldn’t talk to her partner who was in ct listening to. The Kaye jdgmt found the x examination of her about it to be reasonable, ∴ therefore the conduct was questionable.☟

Even if it is now acceptable for a politician to say something untruthful in parliament, how is it defamatory for someone to refer to something in Hansard?
2nd Reynolds complained that day about not being funded at the Soffranoff enquiry about being questioned about her conduct at the crim trial☟

I don’t get why nobody is pointing out the huge logical flaws in Tottle’s judgment. 1st, the idea that Higgins 2023 tweet imputes Reynolds mishandling the rape claim. Reynolds called Higgins a lying cow on 15Feb ‘21, but the next day, 16 Feb apologised in parlt for how she had handled her claim.☟

Bennett spent all the months after trial before Xmas (when Tottle could have written his jdgmt) producing anything that Higgins had said anywhere that might not have been 100% accurate as attacks on her credit when she didn’t give evidence.
Really? He wants indemnity costs for that hit job?

Where is the imputation of ”cover up” in this post? On 15 Feb ‘21 Reynolds called Higgins a “lying cow”,the very next day in parlt she said this VOLUNTARILY

It seems that Reynolds left Court and issued a statement misrepresenting that Higgins and not her were claiming the conspiracy that was found not to exist. She also seemed to admit the action was about retribution and punishing Higgins, not money.
