Yes- I’ve cycled in the region a couple of times but have just had to google Bassano del Grappa as it looked so nice.

I’ve noticed before what a good race that one is to watch and it was excellent again. I know the views on gravel sections in road races are mixed but it can really make it interesting.

Subtext- the team don’t want him racing Paris Roubaix next year and is trying to get it off his list. I suspect if he could choose one to drop it might be the Tour de France as he seemed to find that mentally hard but he probably has to race that one.

He’s already a legend.

I think he’s done more race days than Pog this year and he doesn’t seem to have the one day racer mentality.

Loved listening to the podcast- inspiring and thought provoking. I was listening to it cycling through a fairly remote corner of the Hungary/Croatia border a few days ago and then of course fab to see the ITT results yesterday as I arrived back in the UK.

Perfect and I’ve now found a telly. I do like a TT. I did 46km in about 4 hours today- loaded touring and including gelato stops!

I’ve been trying to see on the giro website - what are the start times CET eg for Tarling Van Aert, Roglic, Ayuso, Affinity, del Toro?

And just look at the world tour 3 yr rankings following that result!

Pro cycling had Astana 4 points behind then 21 ahead but not sure if the giro results have flowed through yet

So Astana nosed ahead at the end of CD but now picnic are back ahead following the Giro result! Is that correct?

And now there are only 4 points between Astana and Picnic. Looks like Astana will overtake them in the next few days.

It is only 160 points gap now for Astana to catch picnic. Wow.

I meant by the end of the season btw! I don’t think procycling stats totals are updated yet- it doesn’t look like the gap has reduced since this morning. It’s all starting to get a bit hazy as I’ve spent the day cycling and it’s been very hot in Italy today.

I’m going to guess they’ll overtake picnic and cofidis.

He doesn’t have a contract though? And Israel seems unlikely to extend him so where would he go?
