08.11.2025 09:44 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As I recall from my early modern history A Level, Cromwell said to paint it "warts and all." It's the only way to truly gauge something. (Though I am sure someone will let me know that Cromwell never actually said that!" ๐)
07.11.2025 13:36 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Shocking. And if it doesn't breach the "bringing the profession into disrepute" standard, then it's not fit for purpose.
07.11.2025 09:46 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Following in his leaders footsteps, I see. Something about these people actively seek to quash attempts to enforce accountability.
06.11.2025 15:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Same accusation applies to the press and political commentators, though, speculating on the next GE around four years away?
05.11.2025 20:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Can these lessons be rolled out to adult too, please? Seems like they are even more in need of education into fake news and AI generated images.
05.11.2025 08:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0He also wants to get rid of the regulators of solicitors too. Something about accountability that really offends/frightens him.
03.11.2025 13:29 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Four years of this tripe before the next election? It would take Trump levels of electorate stupidity to land him as PM.
03.11.2025 13:21 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Reform "looking after our own" latest episode. ๐
03.11.2025 13:17 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Moved on quickly from "we should look after our own" haven't they, though?
01.11.2025 19:56 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0See also: the "debanked". How many of them has he helped since he set up his website after the whole Coutts debacle?

31.10.2025 13:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A salutary lesson in reading a piece rather than reacting to the headline. Glad I read it! Interesting thinking!
31.10.2025 11:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I suppose it depends on how it is reported..... but there's another issue!! ๐ตโ๐ซ
31.10.2025 09:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'd go along with this. Right now polling is in a "consequence free" state, but I suspect than once people have had a taste of Reform in their councils, and Labour's longer term plans start to bear fruit, there will be a change in direction of voting.
31.10.2025 08:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We are entering the FO stage of FAFO.
31.10.2025 08:41 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Unfortunately, the issue is that when this is pointed out to such journalists, they don't put out a retraction/explanatory note thereafter. They are just happy to leave the rage bait intact.
30.10.2025 09:38 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Has he? There's a pattern here of you missing off important context, while allowing misplaced outrage yo go uncorrected . Disappointing. bsky.app/profile/pete...

And this is where political commentators are especially bad in this respect. They promote speculation, criticise it to high heaven, leading to a massive rise in anti govt feeling, then fail to say "sorry" when it turns out they were wrong. Seen it today (again) about big tech liabilities for fraud.
24.10.2025 18:32 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Absolutely agree. At this moment, I still (layman that I am) believe that we are in 'protest vote' territory (in England at least). Come the next GE, I'd expect people to look at little more at manifesto pledges (and look at how Reform have dared in their respective councils) before voting.
24.10.2025 07:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Remember the "ming vase" that Starmer was said to be carrying up to the last GE. Do we really think Farage can keep this up until 2029?
23.10.2025 15:39 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0to move into these areas of debate more easily and publicly.
19.10.2025 12:21 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0My biggest hope for him is not that he will be the political saviour of "the left" but that he will open up the debate to include left leaning ideologies, up to now the media has been very much "right" focused and everything is viewed in this prism. Hopefully it will also give room for the govt to
19.10.2025 12:21 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I still remember watching "The Firm" at school in the early 1990s. To my (then insulated) childhood, it was a shocking reality call and has stuck with me ever since. Seems Jenrick may have missed seeing this in his formative years.
17.10.2025 20:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Didn't Farage set up a website to help the "unfairly debanked"? Or has he ditched this too, now he has bled that particular money cow dry?
