Heading back North after a lovely couple of days spent at the Women in World-Literature conference (@womeninworld-lit.bsky.social) at the University of Warwick. Presented a fragment of a current thesis chapter and chaired a fantastic panel all about speculative fiction!

Very excited to say I’ve just signed the contract for a Polish translation of ‘The Roma’! So there will now be translations into German, French, Russian, and Polish. 👀

Working on an award application for my PhD and it requires two references. The way my heart sunk when I started to write down Justin Edward’s name for referee 2 and stopped 💔

I don’t really feel like I’d have a chance anyways with this application because it’s merit based and I feel merit less.

I’ve recycled mine! They definitely can be recycled if you put them in the paper and cardboard bins. If they have sprayed edges then you might need to look at alternative options as those can’t always be recycled.

I’ve never recycled a book that wasn’t damaged before in my life (usually just give them away), but the four books that were on my shelf by this vile person are now, literally, in the (recycling) bin. This was so much worse than I expected.
