The majority of people โ56% in the US!โare worried about climate change, but not activated.
Why not? Most feel helpless, hopeless, and don't know what to do. So more fear won't activate them. Rather, knowing what to doโand being invited to do itโwill.
Where to start? With a conversation today. ๐งต

Also makes me bang the multifractal gong again: all these processes modulate each other. If so lots of the processes we measure are not IID.
Multifractality lets you characterize that multiscale variation.

It has been weeks since he was detained, and there are still no specific accusations about why they revoked his visa and detained him. He didnโt write an op ed or attend protests (not that those are valid reasons anyway). Why is this mechanical engineering doctoral student being deported???

Most bills target transgender people.
The bills have also grown more extreme, reverting drivers licenses, arresting trans people in bathrooms, and more.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NYU Faculty Take Classes Off Campus to Protest Lack of Protections for International Students NEW YORK, April 17, 2025 โ More than fifty NYU faculty members have taken their classes off campus starting today, and continuing for the next week, to protest the Universityโs lack of commitment to protect international students in the face of the Trump administrationโs attacks. Some faculty have moved their classes to in-person locations that have been declared sanctuary spaces, where international students are assured that building administrators will do everything in their power to refuse to cooperate with ICE agents. Other faculty have moved their classes online so that students can attend from a safe location of their choosing. The protest, which organizers are calling the โSanctuary Picket,โ is a response to a call to NYU faculty issued by a coalition of student groups. It comes after NYU senior leaders failed to respond to two petitions delivered over the past few weeks demanding that the University take steps to protect noncitizen students from abductions and deportations. Gallatin Faculty member Vasuki Nesiah, a member of the NYU Sanctuary group that organized the protest, said: โThe government has launched a war on higher education so the stakes are existential. University administrators at NYU and elsewhere have not demonstrated that they are ready and willing to fight back. On the other hand, students, staff, and faculty are invested in the integrity of our institutions, in the value of academic freedom, and in continuing the work of making our institutions more equitable and inclusiveโthatโs what this is about.โ
INBOX: over 50 NYU professors are taking their classes off-campus for the next week in a "Solidarity Picket" to protest "the Universityโs lack of commitment to protect international students in the face of the Trump adminโs attacks."
