I was among the rank & file army of IT/IS folks who combed over code & metadata, preventing eminent catastrophe. In those days, just doing our jobs was all that was required to avoid disaster. Honestly, I’m not sure that, as a society, we could accomplish that same task today. That, or I’m just old.
