I need this. Don't take this from me.

I need a 2 part video series, where Sadiq Khan visits NYC, and he and Zohran Mamdani take the subway to Mets-Willets to watch a Mets game, and talk about hopeful things.

Then in part 2, Zohran visits London. They take the Tube to watch Arsenal play Liverpool.

Can these stones live? — Christian Citizen Faithful Palestinian Christians too often feel abandoned, or worse, betrayed by Western Christians. They want to be seen by their Christian family, but they feel forgotten.

It was a powerful Pentecost Witness at the Capitol. Faith leaders + communities gathered in song, prayer, & truth-telling. The work isn’t done—but when people of faith unite, hope rises. Let us continue demanding a moral budget for our nation ✊🏽🙏🏽

Somebody on Mastodon just pointed out that, unlike with tarrifs, you're not seeing a bunch of "This isn't what i voted for" regrets coming from Trump voters about what's going on in L.A.

Take with that what you will.

It was 2008 before I learned of the existence of Palestinian Christians in more than an abstract way. I had my PhD. I had been teaching for 10 years, and I had spent over 5 months in country in Israel over 4 different trips. I'm still embarrassed it took me that long. Yesterday was Israeli Independence Day. Today, Palestinians remember the same event as "Nakba" or "catastrophe." Seventy-seven years ago 750,000 people out of a population of 1.9 million were displaced. Entire villages of Christians, Muslims, and various other faiths were seized.
I won't pretend to be smart enough to know what a just solution is to conflict that has gone on for well over a century. But I know that hate is never right or God's will, that violence is an abdication of Christ's will for us, and that every human being bears the divine image and is worthy of life and dignity because of that.
Last night at Wednesday Night Bible Study, we looked at Matthew 25—a chilling reminder that the nations which do not act out of mercy and compassion for the vulnerable will find judgment. God's blessing is not found in strength or violence, but empathy add provision.
I suppose all I want to say is. My heart breaks. My heart breaks for all Israelis. My heart breaks for all Palestinians. And in particular, my heart breaks for Palestinian Christians—those keepers of the faith still, for over 2000 years, part of my family of faith—as they fear more displacement and ongoing genocide.
It does not have to be this way. But it will be, until people of good conscious stand up and say, "No more, and never again."

If Congress valued the Constitution, it would impeach Trump for bribery.

The Constitution bans US officials—explicitly including POTUS—from accepting things of value from foreign govts. Ben Franklin famously gave up a gift from France as ambassador.

US institutions now see blatant bribery as ok.
