I first 'studied' kana in 2005, though only learned certain words that interested me like ソニック。

2018 moved to Japan, so actually studied properly. Passed N5 in 2019. N4 in 2022. And just recently passed N3. It's been a slow journey, but a rewarding one. December 2026 will be my first N2 attempt.

Happy to announce I started Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones for the first time two days ago. So far, I like it even better than The Blazing Blade.

I love this game. Kirby Air Riders was exactly what I was looking for in a sequel. Masahiro Sakurai, you will always be famous!

Being in Japan so long, I just totally forget about Thanksgiving. Just did work, then coin laundry. Grabbed a coffee alone at a cafe. Didn't even remember it was Thanksgiving till 2pm. Honestly, a much better day than I would have had in the US.

Biggest thank you to the Fire Emblem fan accounts who warn about Path of Radiance spoilers before talking about it, as I've yet to play it and am waiting anxiously for the NSO release.

Now that I beat Pokémon Legends Z-A, I went back to Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. I understand it isn't completely comparable, but SoS is so much cleaner, and you can see the effort Marvelous put in at every level. Most of my time playing Pokémon I was just itching to get back to Grand Bazaar.

These are actually the first amiibo I've been interested in since Sonic and a few Fire Emblem ones. It destroyed me to learn how expensive they are.

Writing is great. You invent a little guy, you can even make him a nice little guy. And then you shake him as hard as physically possible and give him the worst day of his life. Love it.
