A fabric panel from a quilt reading:

This Panel was made by a Friend for a Friend.
The Parents do not want this panel shown anywhere.
The Stigma still exists –
Until this changes this panel will remain covered.
A Red Ribbon is not enough The Quilt is not enough What will it take?
Attitudes must change!

Went to @queerbritain.bsky.social private view last night. This was the piece that hit the hardest.

Part of a quilt memorial to those who died during the HIV crisis.

Here's to one day revealing the beautiful life beneath this panel and celebrating him for who he was. X

Palestine Action activists cleared of aggravated burglary at Israeli defence firm site None of the six activists were convicted of any offence over break-in at Elbit Systems factory near Bristol in 2024

A truly hideous right wing smear campaign against these six activists for exercising their free speech rights to protest - and confronted with the evidence all six have been acquitted.

UN says Gaza in 'cruellest phase' of war as 9,000 trucks' worth of aid ready at border After Israel eased its 11-week aid block this week, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says Gaza's entire population is at risk of famine.

The people of Gaza are facing into a famine, that is absolutely the creation of the Israeli government. There has been food sitting in trucks on the border that can save starving children. It is an enforced starvation of a people, which is a war crime. 7/ www.bbc.com/news/live/c8...

I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.

β€œMy writing experiment confirmed my belief that good writing demands good intelligence, and that the best intelligence is emplaced, indigenous, interspecies, and environmentally astute; what passes for β€˜AI’ in 2025, by contrast, is dissociating, hubristic, Eurocentric, and ecologically oblivious.”

Nigel Farage was screaming to scrap furlough because it was a waste of money, while he had already claimed Β£120,000 for himself.

He is a fraud every word is a lie.

Is the Famous β€œCave Canem” Mosaic Really a Warning? Rethinking Pompeii’s Most Iconic Dog If you’ve ever seen a photo of a Roman mosaic with a black dog and the words β€œCAVE CANEM” (β€œBeware of the Dog”), you’ve probably accepted…

Lawrence Payne questions whether by taking the guard dog mosaics at face value, as a warning, are we missing a 2,000-year-old Roman joke? Read more:

Good god. We've spent a decade with the British media - including the BBC - claiming that the 'gender critical' movement wanted to 'protect women and girls'.

And it turns out Jeffrey Epstein was funding part of it.

So glad #DiggingForBritain are covering the huge problem with museum storage in the UK.

Most of the museums in the areas my unit work in can no longer accept archaeological archives and finding a solution isn't easy.

Canada has too few professional archaeologists, and that has economic consequences Canadian cultural resource management archaeologistsβ€”professional consultants involved in environmental assessment and compliance processesβ€”are increasingly finding themselves in the public eye when…

CANADA: A new analysis warns that Canada’s shortage of professional archaeologists is colliding with development pressures, and shows how changes to assessment rules and project timelines can shift decision-making away from trained specialists and Indigenous communities.

The Ehenside Tarn axe, found in Cumbria in 1869, now in the British Museum. An early Neolithic stone axe from Langdale, with its original wooden handle still attached. The haft always reminds me of Captain Caveman’s club!

Finally had a chance to go through some of our finds from last year's excavation at #CerneAbbey & thought I would share this gem. Book clasps are quite common finds on monastic sites but this little fella is the finest I've ever excavated & must have come from a pretty fancy prayer book or psalter

Oldest cave painting could rewrite origins of human creativity A stencilled outline of a hand found on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi is the world's oldest known cave painting, researchers say.

Breaking news and congratulations to the team, Sulawesi preserves evidence for the oldest art yet recorded, and strengthens claims for the early colonisation of Australia. At 68k BP this art is almost 30k years earlier than the accepted record for Europe. Bravo🏺🦣🎨
