Here is the very good reason why our reps are not getting into physical altercations with security/police, why getting arrested would be detrimental. From Congressman Frost (D, FL):

5 Calls Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.

Call your senators today, including those you didn't vote for, and tell them they need to vote no on RFK Jr, Gabbard, and Patel nominations. This will help:

My grandmother's remedy for a sore throat was a shot of hot whiskey with honey. It either worked because it worked, or just knocked us kids out so that we didn't know the difference.

Big tech has convinced most people that they *have to* use their walled gardens and pay for their apps. But you don't. That's the beauty of the web, and it's very easy and cheap (free options too!) to have your own site/blog/whatever.

Take advantage of offers like this.

Google changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to Lake Dump Truck just means it isn't a trusted source of information anymore. Geography isn't named by the POTUS.

A selfish personal argument for releasing code as Open Source Iโ€™m the guest for the most recent episode of the Real Python podcast with Christopher Bailey, talking about Using LLMs for Python Development. We covered a lot of other topics โ€ฆ

I really like this from @simonwillison.net

"I realized that one of the best things about open source software is that you can solve a problem once and then you can slap an open source license on that solution and you will never have to solve that problem ever again"

some guy: "Giving your data to the CCP should be terrifying."

same guy: "Giving your data to big tech is based and holy."

Also, watching an open source project stomp the guts out of big tech's hype machine is *chef's kiss*

Not only that, but the infotech and the internet are not state siloed. So the entire concept of state specific ideas like this feels very much like old men yelling at clouds, no concept of what the tech actually is.

In my experience with several LLMs, it doesn't seem to be a prompt issue. They swiftly fall apart the more complex your coding ask becomes, even with baby-steps dead simple prompts. It's why the "AI will replace developers this year" hype is such bullshit. We can't hand them specs and walk away.

This is *critically* important when our attention is the real commodity now, and the opposition has mastered getting attention and manufacturing outrage to divide and distract.

He would, except he just got a $500B government contract with Stargate. Even if OpenAI nosedives straight into NFT-land now, he got his payout and government gravy.

CEOs keep saying this shit because it's sales-speak, not because it reflects reality. AI coding can be helpful for small tasks or as an assist on small projects, but no engineer can hand AI a list of specs for a midsize or larger proj and then just go frolic in the grass while AI does the work.

I was on the board of a nonprofit that received funding from MacKenzie Scott. Her no strings attached gift was game changing. More philanthropists need to adopt this model instead of capitalist brained ideas of efficiency that are ultimately counterproductive.
