To me it looks like the kanji character 米 (Rice).

Felting study using the Cha (茶 = Tea) coaster

These are before and after photos of felting. 100% non-superwash wool, went through a hot water wash and tumble dry cycle with towels.

The width did not change much, but the height was noticeably shortened.

It's scarf week on #ShowMeYourKnits. I've been knitting for two decades, but in that time I've knitted exactly one scarf – this one, the Four Seasons scarf designed by Duke of Nikko. It's double knitted and made of silk and merino. Here's Adrian wearing it in Qingdao earlier this year.
