Last week, the rector at my church noted that doves and pigeons are essentially the same type of bird. I find this tradition in Sweden interesting!

one of my favorite pieces of folk religion — in Swedish, there’s only one word for dove and pigeon (as they’re essentially the same thing), so above the pulpits in these old country churches, they have depicted the Holy Spirit as their own local pigeon variant. delightful!! 🕊️🕯️✨

Further searching revealed the authors are Northwestern psychology grad students. This doesn't invalidate them as researchers, but being more transparent about their status would've provided better context. 4/

I searched for the peer-reviewed study behind The Hill op-ed, but found nothing. The authors' bios stated that they are "researchers in clinical and applied psychology at Northwestern University" but aren't listed in the psychology's faculty list. 3/
