You say "DVD" and they nod in comprehension. So I usually just say I sell DVDs when asked what I do for a living. Similar thing going on here I guess

I have decidedly mixed feelings about this. While USAID does do some good, it has also been a tool of US neocolonial interests. There are a lot of Global South activists who are quite relieved by it going away.
Though I'm sure worse is just around the corner. US empire isn't over, just evolving.
The USA has always been, to some extent, run by an oligarchy.
This is nothing new.
The difference is the brazenness. The level to which they are now doing all of this out in the open.
Don't give any credit to that degenerate Trump.
They've been moving towards this end since Reagan at least.
