22.11.2025 18:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How's this for a bad taste concept? A psychotic obstetrician tries everything he can to get his new neighbour to abort her baby because she reminds him of his mother (who died after giving birth to his baby brother, whom he smothered with a pillow when he was a kid). THE NEIGHBOR (1993).

New Hysteria Lives! Review: MURDER IN LAW (1989)
"A woman escapes from a mental institution and returns to her son, but Mom proves to be a terrible houseguest in this John Waters-esque mash-up of slasher movie and From Hell thriller."

Many. Not all, though.

I never knew there were so many FROM HELL movies!

15.11.2025 15:47 β π 15 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0TV movie DANGEROUS INTENTIONS (1995) utilises the FROM HELL formula to take an unflinching look at domestic abuse. Donna Mills had real-life experience with stalking; in 1987, she was targeted by an obsessed fan who escaped from prison to find her, but was shot dead by police before he could.
15.11.2025 13:45 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0VICTIM OF BEAUTY (1991) is a whodunnit FROM HELL TV movie directed by PROM NIGHT's Paul Lynch. Models and murder. Peeping Tom photographer. Alibi by pizza. Hoary old clichΓ©s such as a cat thrown into frame and a predatory lesbian head of a modelling agency. Plus, a completely ludicrous conclusion!
14.11.2025 17:00 β π 13 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Apparently not intended as high camp, Delta Burke is a hoot as a woman who goes after the people she feels took away her chance at a baby after an emergency hysterectomy. Attempted death by shopping carts and crib smashing are just two highlights from the 1996 FROM HELL TV movie MATERNAL INSTINCTS.

11.11.2025 19:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think youβre right. Although BODY CHEMISTRY did get a limited cinema release. All the rest went to video. I have Petersonβs LOWER LEVEL (1991) lined up, too!
11.11.2025 19:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Roger Corman asked for a FATAL ATTRACTION clone, & that's largely what he got with BODY CHEMISTRY (1990). However, director Katherine Peterson added extra kink to this S&M FROM HELL tale, & in its most transgressive moment, the male protagonist is anally pleasured by his female lover in the shower.
11.11.2025 12:05 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Carl Reiner's FATAL INSTINCT (1993) is a zany spoof of From Hell movies (and film noir in general), taking pot shots at the likes of FATAL ATTRACTION and SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY. The humour is very hit-or-miss, but it has some fun sight gags (and the skunk on the rollercoaster made me laugh!).
10.11.2025 13:58 β π 12 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Oh, my. Yancy Butler as the psychotic ex-wife From Hell in THE EX (1996) is giving serious T-100 in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY vibes here!
09.11.2025 12:15 β π 18 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Something coloured it for her. She didnβt mention Baldwin during the press junket, but came across as the material was beneath her - but she also hinted that the LA riots affected her views on doing movies with violence in them.
08.11.2025 16:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not bad, but perhaps not the most thrilling thriller. More entertaining, though, were Bateman's comments during the film's planned promo tour in Canada, where she dismissed the film and said she would rather be working with Fellini or the Coen Bros!
08.11.2025 15:14 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0DEADBOLT (1992) features the male roommate From Hell. Despite its similarities to SINGLE WHITE FEMALE, it was made before that film was released. It was theatrically released in Canada (where it was shot). Star Justine Bateman raised eyebrows slagging off the film during a tour to promote it.
08.11.2025 15:03 β π 19 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0It sure is terrible, but who can resist the "The Teen Sex Comedy-Slice 'N' Dice Thriller-Martians Have Landed" subgenre?!
07.11.2025 18:46 β π 13 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0New Review: BLOODY DOLL (2014) ** 1/2
"Five old school friends find themselves trapped and chased by a madman in an oversized doll mask in a labyrinthine nightmare. A deliciously overstuffed Chinese cod-supernatural slasher."

Linda Purl, as the executive assistant From Hell, menaces unlikely exec Heather Locklear in BODY LANGUAGE (1992). In the best moment, Purl's character brains the main boss with an ornamental crystal after he makes a sexist remark (coolly telling his corpse, βMenβs heads crack under pressure, too.β)

02.11.2025 13:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Does anyone know anything about the actress Marilyn Adams, who is AMAZING as the demented mother-in-law in the super trashy MURDER IN LAW (1989)? She had a few other genre credits from this time. Often listed as the wife of the late comic book artist Neal Adams, but I think that's wrong ...
