How can we accept this? This cruel industry should be consigned to the dustbin of history. We must restore natural balance, not destroy it for profit.

There’s no human need for #whale meat, and the industry is unprofitable. Most #Icelanders oppose it. Yet, the immense suffering caused to these sentient, incredible beings is even harder to ignore.

There’s an independent review into Iceland's whaling laws, but it hasn't reported its findings yet. This is textbook political #corruption.

This is Bjarni Benediktsson. He lost the #Icelandic election and won’t form part of a new government. He shouldn't be making decisions without a mandate, yet he just issued #whaling licenses to multiple companies for the next 10 years. The licenses allow higher numbers and more species to be hunted.
