Imagine Owen having a AEW Sting-like run, where his "party matches" alongside a younger partner made use of his known penchant for ribs. Mixing in in-match pranks on heel opponents with his now-famed enzuigiri and Sharpshooter.

I could see 2K Owen being like early-TNA Jarrett, where he settled more into the "ring general" role that emphasized his opponent's strengths. Would've been less high-impact, but his crowd work and selling would've still produced great matches.

I think his knees were a bit worn by 1993, but it didn't detract from his work any. He became slightly more grounded, and more judicious with the bumps he took, but his psychology (especially after turning heel) was top-shelf. Paced himself better, in other words.

What aggregate do you use?

WWE is more than just a pair of 2 or 3-hour shows to them. It’s their social profile, what they chat about many other hours of the day. Giving up WWE isn’t just ceasing to watch a TV show. It’s finding something else to talk about during the day.

I should also add, since it's been a year-plus since the election and Elon's gesture, and with WWE's associations with pure scum being made highly explicit, anybody who engages with either gets (at extreme minimum) some side-eye from me.

Twitter and WWE are no different: both condescendingly and dishonestly appeal to bottom-rung intellects and hateful types. And yet many of those critical of both entities still engage with them, because it’s what they‘ve consumed for years, and change is just so gosh darn difficult.

I prefer bluesky to X for a few reasons. As a human, bluesky doesn't create nonconsenual porn & isn't owned by a Nazi. As a pro wrestling fan, I no longer get death threats in DMs or homophobic insults in my replies from WWE trolls. Would I like more people here? Yes. Will I ever go back to X? No.

People who demand change being unable to change themselves explains a lot about the root issues in our world.
