Ironically, I wrote a review praising Mighty Joseph in Paper Thin Walls, my longtime colleague Christopher Weingarten's website with Getty Images. But the site went dark in 2009, so Below System Records probably doesn't know it exists. Luckily, I saved a PDF of it.

Today, I received a press release for a vinyl reissue of Mighty Joseph's underrated 2008 album, "Empire State." Its presale page on belowsystem.com falsely attributes some PR hype I reprinted on my old website, Plugonemag.com, to me.

Sorry, still processing. But I can definitively say that Blood Orange's "Westerberg" is one of the most fey reworks of a classic alt-rock song ("Alex Chilton") I've heard.

I’m thinking of a few folks in particular who I still respect and admire…but yeah, I guess it’s for the best that I’m in my own lane.
