31.07.2025 17:00 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0it's poorly phrased, but is that actually what the last item is saying? i think they might mean that card vending machines are the only places cash will still be accepted (not that those machines will be cash-only).

i can't say that era is the BEST, but it's my personal favorite for sure. Murray St is my number one.
25.07.2025 13:42 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The mass starvation & killing of Palestinians in Gaza at the hands of the Israeli govโt is a chillul hashem, a desecration of God.
Jewish leaders who criticized Zohran Mamdani for three words he doesnโt use should raise their voices loudly here as well.

โMy grandfather wrote, โA song ainโt nothing but a conversation you can have again and again.โ It keeps this conversation in the narrative. โฆ And unfortunately, it needs to be had again and again and again.โ

11.07.2025 18:14 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0any politician who supports harassing and/or detaining literal children playing baseball should be relentlessly questioned about their opposition to the american way of life.
10.07.2025 21:14 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It is journalistic malpractice for news outlets to keep repeating that Trump's attack on Harvard has anything to do with alleged antisemitism.
The president who uses antisemitic slurs and hires Nazis is not doing anything out of concern for antisemitism. His actions are about control.
(i revisited this interview bc i have been playing some Aphex for my older kid, who is currently only into instrumental music. he likes it! Richard D. James, relatable king)
10.07.2025 15:18 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Excerpt from a 2014 interview with Richard D. James, aka Aphex Twin, published in Rolling Stone. Q: Do you work mostly during the day or at night? A: The best part is when everyoneโs gone to bed, always. Itโs a really good time of the day for creating stuff. Naturally I would stay up until about five in the morning, but when Iโve got to take my kids to school, Iโve got to go to bed early. It really sucks. At the moment, itโs holidays, so Iโm fine. But itโs really fucking annoying. I really canโt stand it. Thatโs the only bad thing about having kids, I think, is that youโve got to get up to get them to school.
i did this interview with Aphex Twin in 2014, before i had kids. now that i'm a parent of two grade-schoolers, gotta say i find this part very relatable lol.

After Adam Schlesinger's tragic death from Covid in April 2020, his bandmates in the excellent indie-pop trio Ivy thought the band was over for good. Then they discovered enough unreleased music for a fantastic new album.
