The only useful thing his recent dithering has done is change the opinion of his base again. I could see it changing back easily though probably not as much as he now has a bee in his bonnet about India etc. trading with Russia which he now sees as a tariff issue.

I try to take an active interest in almost everything but every once in a while there's a story that enraptures a whole country that I can't even manage to get past the headlines, if that. This is definitely one of them.

I think it went like this:

Trump hates getting ignored, begins grousing about Putin

His people pick up on the vibe and start echoing it. Trump feels it more now

It gets linked to trade and tariffs which is his big trigger, reaches a new level which we are seeing now.

Yep, Korea adapted pretty quickly for sure once China began bullying it around 2017. Samsung etc. all moved manufacturing elsewhere.

Also: Ada! That's awesome. Never used it but have lurked a lot and am a fan.

I find it most useful in changing the opinion of his base. On /r/conservative for example they are pretty much all tired of Putin ignoring him since he has been saying as much, and want to see punishment.

This part of the year in Seoul is pretty fun as the day length is now shrinking at a more rapid rate and you can just start to see the bottom begin to fall out of the hideously hot summer. Just a beginning of a beginning but it's still visible.

@anderspucknielsen.dk talked about that a year or so ago in his video. Basically every time the West starts to dither then Russia thinks it's time to go all in on force and cruelty under the assumption that the West will then throw its hands up and leave. But the effect is always the opposite.

The first LNG tanker from the LNG Canada project is back on the radar and is now quite close! Looks like it will dock at Tongyeong in the south of Korea in just four days.

This one I've wanted to see myself, only a few countries have actual ministries devoted to defense so it would be accurate for them. Otherwise an honest naming is better IMO

(E.g. look at how many nations go to war without declarations anymore, populaces actually at war are told that they aren't)

Persian is an absolute delight to learn, Indo-European but no grammatical gender for nouns, verbs are incredibly regular. Sounds very soft too. It only *looks* intimidating because of the script.

We've got one that's about a year or so old called SurrealKV: github.com/surrealdb/su... Built it to support temporal versioning and also to have full control over the storage layer. With RocksDB there are tons of env vars while SurrealKV just a few since we can make any changes directly to it :D
