It would probably be hard to go back to a regular human partner after dating a hive mind. It would be such a let-down.

Everyone is 12 never fails —except why DO 12 year olds do that? Maybe it’s a way to assert autonomy as you individuate from your parents? This is how you realize you are a separate being—you annoy someone. [12 year olds don’t violate serious consent but they love to needle adults and one another.]

What’s funny is that that I am old I can get two different actors confused and then I’ll be watching a movie thinking —wait, how is that guy the thief? But isn’t that the guy that’s the cop?…but no it’s another guy who looks like that guy (actually I think I always did this).

For some reason I never forgot this character even though there’s not much to her. I’m very impressed by this actress as a result.

What I like about it is that it’s not the slightest bit intriguing. There is nothing further one would ever want to know. It’s the perfect celebrity story in that way.

I thought it might not be done as a joke until she got that bottle of wine out and then I fell in love.

If you think humans are the bomb diggity—the tippity top of the great chain of being—the answer seems obviously ‘yes.’ Is there some other way to make the answer ‘yes.’ I can’t see one.

Of course a world without human autonomy is a world with suffering. A world without humans is a world with suffering. But humans cause suffering and humans suffer in many ways due to their autonomy. Is it worth it?

I would not impose my wishes on the creators. I am not that kind of fan. But I know I will be thrilled if the moral ambiguity never gets resolved. (I am that kind of fan—I love ambiguity. And this is a question that’s plagued me since maybe junior high school so it would be thrilling.

She’s down for one thing (autonomy) and the hive mind is down for another thing (a world without suffering) and these are both good things. And they conflict (free will ‘n shit). I hope the conflict never gets resolved in the plot and by the end we don’t know which is better—because maybe we don’t

I do love it. My fingers are crossed it will stay morally ambiguous to the end.

How are we supposed to watch? I’m really asking!

Really? I just have to WATCH IT? Come on. It wouldn’t be written like this if not to perplex me. E.g., hive mind is a new conscious being. Can it be obviously right to kill it to bring the autonomous minds back? Or is it not a person because it is unfree? (If it’s Samba’s partner, can it consent?)

Abolish ICE.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the law schools per se—it’s more there’s something morally untethered about American society itself. It gets more unsettling the higher you go. It’s probably not caused by one thing. We certainly have a peculiar incentive system though!

Not about the guys—about their argument.

It’s so weird that I wrote a skeet about the thrill of getting into a school where you learn how to argue it’s OK to kill people and then immediately stumbled across this paper about the guys who argue it’s OK to kill people. dc.suffolk.edu/suls-faculty...

The Playboy model is over of course. But it certainly wasn’t ignoring men or devaluing what they want. However, it wasn’t manipulating anxiety in the same way. The humor, the aspirational aspect is consonant with liberal democracy. The manosphere‘s anger and hopelessness consonant with fascism.

No—my point is that the culture changes what people expect or think they need. It interacts with some biological and other things but it’s very malleable (obviously). The manosphere *creates* expectations. It’s not just satisfying them.

AFAICT the manosphere is more of control/manipulation BS. It pretends not to be —taking men ‘as they are’ but ‘men (or women) as they are’ is always changing. The ‘taking men as they are‘ we see in Playboy is very different—more sex-positive. Misogyny in the manosphere is for a less free society.

And that’s true? IT CAN. As far as sexuality goes—just look at comments on any woman describing sexual desire or enjoyment of the physical act of sex. I don’t think one could conclude that women are allowed to want what they want? Maybe our bigger problem is sex is used as a form of social control.

It’s not positivity to tell someone—those people you are attracted to? Turns out they are all devious alien beings who will ruin your life. Not too positive! Positive would be — various reasons men and women experience sexuality differently but they like sex. It can work out.

Tom Cruise acts excessively euphoric but not jerky. Likely the physical jerkiness plus the euphoria that makes people think it is cocaine or some similar substance.

He openly talks like a psychopath constantly. Like he forgot most of the rest of us believe in morality. Possibly when you are very rich the people around you don’t warn you enough that your statements will terrify normal people and you forget to hide your psychopathic tendencies.

I get so crazy on a lot of caffeine. God I should film myself. I’m always overdoing it. I don’t act like this though—I just talk super super super fast.
