The movie was well worth watching. There was a lot of fun dialogue, especially between the three room-mates, as well as the more serious Noir plot. (For anyone not familiar, Kanopy is free through many public libraries.)

Whoever it was that mentioned watching Blue Gardenia and inspired me to check it out (on Kanopy) did not mention *Nat King Cole*.

So, the reason someone would go is because it is socially acceptable to scream and run away?

I have two bags of this kind in a different plaid pattern that I inherited, but had no idea about the history. The zippers are broken but I still use them along with ikea bags and other reusable bags for returnable beverage containers. Much better than garbage bags.

My grandmother kept my Dad's room in her idealized version of how he left it until she died age 100. Only child, and large house, but it was still kind of creepy.

I volunteer with my local NDP constituency association, and I have been thinking about this discussion since yesterday. It certainly seems to me that supporters are tired of constant requests for money, and want to do something.

It is also just a really good read which I would recommend to anyone. I hope de Gracia will have more books to come.

I found a lot of material, but had trouble putting it together so that I could imagine the overall situation on such an island on a particular day. This book was exactly what I was looking for, detailing the lives of penguins, seals, and researchers over the summer months.

Book recommendation: The Last Cold Place by Naira de Gracia www.nairadegracia.com I have been working on a fantasy story set on an island, and decided to model that island (loosely) after a real one far to the south. Naturally this requires research.

This also fits with the fascination of things like art created by elephants. So much of the interest is because we feel the art connects us to the animal's experience of life.

The Politics of Humiliation The politics of humiliation has moved to the center of the reactionary project under Trump II.

It is a very short little piece which I thought of as whimsically dystopian when I submitted it last September. A lot has happened since then, and I'm not sure if the story is more or less relevant now. If you take the time to read it, maybe let me know what you think.

I originally came to your blog by way of reading some Big Idea posts. I found I also appreciated other posts, some explaining US politics (this was in about 2016). Since then I've read and enjoyed several of your books too.

You can easily get parking in the Jube lot. The problem is getting out again. It takes forever with everyone trying to leave at once. We used the education parkade last time and the short walk was very much worth it.
