I found a lot of material, but had trouble putting it together so that I could imagine the overall situation on such an island on a particular day. This book was exactly what I was looking for, detailing the lives of penguins, seals, and researchers over the summer months.

I am currently reading Samuel R Delaney and some of his sentences are stunning.

It is a very short little piece which I thought of as whimsically dystopian when I submitted it last September. A lot has happened since then, and I'm not sure if the story is more or less relevant now. If you take the time to read it, maybe let me know what you think.

I originally came to your blog by way of reading some Big Idea posts. I found I also appreciated other posts, some explaining US politics (this was in about 2016). Since then I've read and enjoyed several of your books too.

You can easily get parking in the Jube lot. The problem is getting out again. It takes forever with everyone trying to leave at once. We used the education parkade last time and the short walk was very much worth it.

Hard to have rational expectations where the White House is concerned these days.
