A toddler is dead in Calgary because we allow these jacked up SUVs with very minimal forward visibility. The drivers of these canโt see people in the crosswalk.
When will these be banned?

Mark Sutcliffe and Lowell Green were both subjects of the same Broadcast Standards complaint over anti-Black racism in their coverage of a 1997 police shooting of a man having a mental health incident
Here are transcripts from Sutcliffe and Green's radio shows:

Lowell Green was a racist demagogue who used his CFRA radio show as a soapbox to rant about immigrants and target racialized communities in Ottawa
Contrary to Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe's eulogy here, Lowell wasn't proud of Canada โ he wrote an entire book about how it wasn't white enough for him

Shawn Micallef: Toronto is facing its worst police corruption scandal in decades. Here are three things that need to happen soon
The corruption revealed by Project South undermines the public trust that is the foundation of policing.
In the Toronto Star I write about Toronto Police's violent corruption scandal. Will it move the needle on police reform? It's a dramatic escalation in a long history of police intimidation, bullying their critics & broken trust. I argue 3 big things have to happen, including firing this chief.

I was reminded that yesterday was the 4th anniversary of the now-dubbed "Battle of Billings Bridge" when over a thousand of us in Ottawa blockaded convoyers from coming into our city.
With the growing far-right, it's a good reminder of how we can still fight back - and win.

I was there when the word came out to move the table across the road and block it, trapping the Convoy. We let numerous non-convoy vehicles through. Threats were made against us that the other parts of the convoy was going to come and deal with us. Police, provincial govโt, federal too, did nothing.

We make poor choices, we're hardly bankrupt
We wasted a half billion on Lansdowne, hundreds of millions every year on suburban road widenings. Stop them
Make suburbanites pay an appropriate tax for the sprawl they've chosen instead of being a net drain on city revenue

โThe fact that this tragic event in #TumblerRidge immediately inspired calls for restrictions on gender-affirming care and trans rights at large in Canada should raise huge alarm bells for trans people and our allies.โ
