I can’t adequately express how mystified and nauseated I am by the conversation about Trump receiving a Nobel Peace Prize that corporate media is now leading. But as a journalist, attorney, historian and Trump presidential biographer I’m now obligated to make the case *against* in full.

Journalists are civilians under international humanitarian law.

Facilities and equipment utilized for reporting and disseminating news are also civilian structures.

They must be respected and protected.

In order for the United States to become a party to the International Criminal Court and have our officials be subject to trial at The Hague, the US Senate would need to ratify the Rome statute by a two-thirds vote. Let’s start running on that.
