Absolutely amazing performance. Love how a kind of ugly character actor guy is just DOMINATING the screen. He’s utterly magnetic and frightening.

Deepseek may be a bombshell disrupter of the AI market, but, currently, it’s not nearly as good as ChatGPT or Claude. Hallucinates much more and much, much less β€œcreative”.

Just try stuff. None of these guys were β€œthe plan”, they just became the plan via opportunity. Dems won’t even attempt.

I don’t understand what he’s talking about at all here. What is the ancien regime? Who wants to return to the pre-internet? Why?

What is this enemy he’s discussing? Biden? Democrats? β€œThe woke”? I simply cannot square his argument (mostly because he clearly used an LLM to write this)

The Book American Kingpin was hugely damaging to the history of it. Silk Road is incredibly dangerous, but the feds were amazingly underhanded in how they prosecuted Ulbricht.
The primary DEA agents involved was sent to prison for fraud and obstruction of justice.

Those contract murder sites were almost certainly honeypots. People were charged for hiring a killer, but it’s clear that they just β€œhired” a police officer in disguise.

I know people who love Lynch, but the sexual violence of Blue Velvet (deeply empathetic/necessary/compelling as it is), has been an immediate turnoff.

Astonished at the rare event we saw: TikTok decided to close up in the USA rather than sell for $150 BILLION. β€œName your price” was, essentially offered, and that’s basically never turned down these days.

Lumière and Company - David Lynch
YouTube video by Super8HomeVideo Lumière and Company - David Lynch

This David Lynch short film, shot with a Lumiere camera, is a real favorite of mine. It is filled a near-minute of cosmic horror and twilight dread. The burning scene change is astonishing.

Not sure if he was a mentor, precisely, but Hyman Rickover, the father of the nuclear Navy, was a huge influence on Jimmy Carter. Love this exchange.

Always curious why horror movies are in β€œPeriod”. 1922 Nosferatu took place in β€œthe past”, but the update takes place in the same β€œpast”.

Even more odd with Dracula, which was a VERY modern/contemporary book. Adaptations should be contemporary, just as the book was.
