There’s a young southern woman on tt doing an experiment: calling churches & asking if they can help her get baby formula, saying she can’t afford it. Of the 30+ she’s called, nearly every church has said no. The ones who said yes were:

Black Baptist Churches
A Mosque
A small Appalachian church

We potentially cede our civil liberties every time we go online.

It does worry me.
That, and a cashless society.

When I worked in WaPo Opinions in 2017-2018, senior editors specifically told junior editors not to factcheck Marc Thiessen and other MAGA columnists, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to publish anything by them at all, and “we need them for intellectual diversity.”

Worth noting that evangelicals view their commitment to Israel as necessary to bring about the apocalypse, after which they imagine that Jews will be condemned to Hell. So kinda fitting that they're down with antisemitism since that's like central to their worldview & politics.
