If you can feel that staying human is worth while, even when it can't have any result whatever, you've beaten them. — George Orwell 🇪🇭 In spite of all hardships, we are a nation that refuses death.

To get people excited about diversity rather than scared of it, we need to make them feel safe and secure in their own lives and identities. If the life you want is in reach in a real way, and not just theiretucsll/superficially, you'll have much less insecurities to exploit.
08.02.2026 11:06 — 👍 9 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0At heart, all of us ultimately want to be in control of our own lives. For many of us - especially those who in one way or another don't fall perfectly within society's traditional "normal" - having options is a lifeline.
For others - having options is scary, because you may make bad choices.
The far right taps heavily in this sentiment : the aggrieved frustrations of people who really really value being "normal" and derive a certain sense of superiority from it. They are frustrated nor because their preferences aren't catered to - but because they are one of the many options available.

I'm happy that I managed to no longer need WA (even my not-so-tech-savvy family switched!), but the goal now is to manage to redirect all conversations here.
Usernames are a huge plus too, and @signal.org has added a few more features now. Excited to make it the default app for my personal texting.
