about a year ago today, i got a phone call from a room full of librarians telling me that my book The Real Riley Mayes was chosen as a Stonewall Honor Book.

a year later i’m still so so grateful to the librarians who champion books for queer kids and books for all readers.

I'm working on new picture book samples for my portfolio, and I still like this non-binary kid. So I'm thinking, what if they are Little Red Riding Hood, and I draw some urban scenery for the setting? What do you think?
