We don't have a healthcare system. We have disparate systems that sometimes allow people to get the care they need. I'm sorry about your experience, man

Seconded. The larger problem with American healthcare is not that we can't treat increasingly specific, rare conditions (though it's important). It's that people see having a primary care doc as a luxury, that they can't afford preventive care or manage their chronic conditions

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

The carceral state is generally brutal and evil in the way it treats the human beings it cages, but it’s fine to point out when there are bursts of unusually concentrated or vigorous evil and use it to get people to care.

i do not want to "work from anywhere". i want to work in my dedicated work environment with all my dedicated work assisting tools. i do not want to send an email from the coffee shop or the park. i want to do coffee shop or park related tasks when i'm in the coffee shop or park

I hate this for patients. Some EMR's are good about being able to put the patient's chosen name in, others not so much. It should absolutely be standard.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

So true. I can't believe when I see my colleagues outsourcing their thinking to AI. It's part of our training and our duty to patients to be able to read papers and evaluate evidence critically.

My brain feels absolutely cooked, and all day I’ve been like, why can’t I get anything done? I haven’t been drinking, got enough-ish sleep, had my coffee, eat my gruel, all the while never really considering that the underlying cause might be *gestures at everything*
