I came to Twitter because people whose opinions I cared about professionally were all there. Now it seems they’ve mostly recongregated here. Seeing it keep and retain a critical mass of usage from that group will be what gets me to cut the cord for good.

Her essay places the safety of every Jewish and Israeli student in her classroom in jeopardy. Certainly if one of my professors called the murder of my family members "exhilarating" they'd be carried out of that classroom on a stretcher. Her abominable lack of judgment follows Magill + Gay's lead.

Nah -- H&WS made absolutely the correct decision here. Dean's essay brings her ability to perform her duties as an educator capable of grading and administering her classroom fairly into stark question. If she had made calls for lynching blacks, her immediate termination would have been unquestioned
