I deplore how the German and western political classes have abused Holocaust memory to the point that publics have lost faith in its lessons.

I have a chapter in this book on how German „obsessions“ (a term I take from @sabanurcheema.bsky.social) are politically „managed“, and provide some examples. Those that ride the 🐅 are also in danger of being consumed.

I don’t know. Three German newspapers approached me for interviews over the past 18 months but none followed through. By contrast, I’ve done plenty for other European outlets. Some academic colleagues in Germany say they can’t invite me lest they get into trouble. This does not happen elsewhere.
