I for one am not at all worried that the most powerful people on earth have optimized my society and my brain to be ultra-reliant on the misery machine we keep in our pockets.

The Democratic Party is a coalition that naturally should and wants to be two or three different parties, and we'd all be better off if we had a proportional electoral system that allowed that. The abnormal dysfunctional system that doesn't should not be taken for granted as set in stone forever.
