If you need me, tap me on the shoulder. I’ll be happily working all day listening to this on a loop.

Viv, I have to go to work with the knowledge bomb ep 6 dropped on us. How am I supposed to focus?!

But also. What a damn good pair of episodes, holy moly.

They also should have just said this aloud. I agree with this post, this is the wrong move, it was the opportunity to say "Trump is hurting you so much when all we're asking for is to make your health insurance less expensive." BUT - we just couldn't stand to see people hurt anymore is

I don’t know what’s in the water the casting department is drinking for One Piece, but they keep hitting the nail on the head for these live action roles.

This explanation is ridiculous yet likely true. Millions of people did not conceptualize Trump the way we do (e.g., "bad person who did a bad job and wants to do bad things like X, Y, Z") but rather as a TV character, an avatar of prosperity who would somehow bless them economically.

β€œRather than AI being able to enhance human innovation, critical thinking, the progress of scienceβ€”it’s being used to exploit our insecurities. That’s the thing about so many of these Silicon Valley tech bros. They’re essentially emotionally maladapted psychopaths.”

I know you all know what deranged, vile, propaganda nonsense this is. But for the record:

Leaders of the regime are declaring the opposition party and all forms of political dissent as illegitimate - and large swaths of the population to be dangerous terrorists. This is incredibly dangerous.

There is an actual life-changing conflict between WFH being cheaper and more efficient, an entire layer of middle managers who need to have meetings to feel alive, and the commercial real estate cabal that runs all cities. It’s going to get so fucking weird.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

I’m very glad they’re shortening the turnaround. People want more content, not less and the quicker new seasons come out, the more audience retains their interest.

And wow, that Matt Duffer comment is so wild. I know I would’ve rather had Season 5 by now instead of it taking eons to come out.

Our local ER had a massive wait when we went the other night because of a private equity owned conglomerate going bankrupt and causing closures of other regional hospitals and overloading ones like ours but go on couchfucker

Yeah, this just pushed me to downgrade to Premium. I use my Series X almost daily for gaming (but rarely play Ubisoft/EA games or Fortnite so none of those additions appeal to me) & if all it costs me is having to wait to play new games, then I’ll pay that cost while also saving myself $64/year.

🧡This underscores for me something I keep coming back to:

In a white supremacist patriarchy, YOU ONLY HAVE VALUE INSOFAR AS YOU SERVE THE WHITE SUPREMACIST PATRIARCHY. In 2025, that means Trump.

It's why the ppl who battled law enforcement on Jan 6 were pardoned & ppl like Charlie Kirk are heroes.

This is the line that Dems need to push. It can't be simply. "Political violence is bad" it MUST be "Political violence is bad and Trump and his ilk are responsible for creating conditions ripe for political violence"

Though it does look like this all hinges on the fact that the sub character has to be summoned by a β€œthrown ball”. But it’s still wild, in my opinion.

The range of games this patent covers is absolutely egregious. Like all minion builds in games like WoW and Diablo hit those markers. Ugh.

Exactly. A central component of present-day American Christianity is a backlash to the kindness, tolerance, and pluralism taught by Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street. Nothing worse than helping a stranger in need or having Black neighbors who you treat as people.

the political rise of the worst, most boring and least curious people in the world has created the permission structure (combined with the mindfuck of 1M+ Americans dying of Covid) for everyone to be an asshole. So on the macro level, everything sucks. And on the micro level, many people suck.
