Reading widely means reading stuff you would normally never read btw. So memoirs of people you’ve never heard of, fiction titles from genres you don’t write in, tropes you hate, the whole shebang. You have to explore. You have to get uncomfortable. You have to get weird.

I realized I never give my book characters pets??? Ever ???? I need to change that
